A. Design out all problems so that the product is fully functional, economical,
attractive, and idiot proof. If all of these objectives are not fully satisfied, go to B.
B. Provide guards on the product to protect the inattentive, and if that is not
fully possible, go to C.
C. Provide warnings of suitable number, size, shape, and message to get the
attention of the inexperiences and/or uninitiated user, and if that is not fully possible,
go to D.
D. Wear protective clothing for protection and/or to deflect the danger of a
mishap, and if that is not appropriate, go to E.
E. Prepare training materials to include safety instructions, background
information, all in plain language, in the form of data sheets, brochures, books, or
videotapes.
